INTERNATIONAL ORDER OF ST.LUKE THE PHYSICIAN
Ecclesia Chapter at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church

The International Order of St. Luke the Physician is an ecumenical organization dedicated to the Christian healing ministry. Members meet in local chapters to study Scripture, specifically the biblical stories of the healing miracles, as well as other books about Christian healing. Members engage in healing prayer, often with the laying-on of hands.

The Ecclesia Chapter of the Order of St. Luke is comprised of a group of dedicated men and women who serve as lay prayer ministers at all weekend services at prayer stations around the church, and serve once a month at the Wednesday noon Healing Eucharist in the chapel.  Prayers are offered for the community in public places on special occasion and once a month on the campus.

To become a member of the order, candidates first read selected books to prepare themselves for the classes, and commit to continuing, lifelong study, daily reading of scripture, and daily prayer. The classes take place over 14 weeks to study together the 26 recorded healings by our Lord Jesus Christ in His ministry. Upon completion of study the candidates are inducted into the order in a special ceremony, they are anointed and have their hands blessed.

The members of the chapter meet weekly and members are expected to attend at least one healing conference each year to foster continual growth in spiritual depth.

If you feel called to be a part of this special ministry contact either Co-Convener: Cherrill Cregar at [email protected] or Joan Croteau at [email protected]. Rev. Gail Tomei at [email protected] is chaplain of the Order.
